Forrest has been painting since 2002. His painting career began when his daughter gave him a watercolor set and informed him that he “needed a hobby.” He paints in “classic watercolor” style primarily (no black or white paint) as well as air-brushed acrylics. His subjects have included portraits, animals, still life, fairies and other fantasy creatures as well as buildings and landscapes. Forrest has “formal watercolor” training from several classes with Cliff Smith at Sunspider Studios.  His acrylic painting classes have been from A.D. Cook of A.D. Cook Fine Art, and Dru Blair of Blair Art Studios. Forrest has won awards with his paintings in addition to selling several paintings to private collectors.
